Use after cleansing and conditioning your hair. (Do not towel dry or stain after the last rinse.)

Apply As I Am® Leave-In Conditioner liberally, according to the instructions. This will help prevent hair loss once it is dry.

Apply Twist Defining Cream to tangle-free hair while wet, in small sections from roots to ends, twisting away! Spray with water if the hair begins to dry before you are done.

Air drying is recommended. You can use your hood dryer on the lower setting if time or weather is an issue.

To get rid of the twists, loosen the twists and separate them, only after the hair is completely dry.

For added hydration, wash your hair with Moisturizing Milk or DoubleButter® Cream daily or as needed.

You can also use Twist Defining Cream for exfoliation, too, by combing it section by section through clean wet hair and detangling it with a wide-tooth comb. Dry thoroughly before fluffing and separating by hand for style.

Tips

For the tightest of twists with maximum definition, twist the hair while it's soaking wet.

For added fullness and elongation, wrap hair while it is damp.

Apply generously, but use less product when wrapping barely wet hair. The more hydrated the hair, the more Twist Cream can be used.

Wrap each section, leaving about ½" - ¾" unwrapped at the ends. Wrap this part around your index finger and carefully slide your finger down and out of the coil.

As you twist, arrange the twists in the places and directions you want to put them in the end with your final style. For example, if you want your style to be straight, away from your face, and to show your hairline, make sure you slide your sections back and away from your face.

If you plan to separate your hair as soon as it dries, you don't have to be too careful about very fine and tiny parts at all. In fact, it's best not if you don't want your scalp to be exposed when you're done styling.

Twisting in the brick layering pattern will reduce the exposure of the scalp with twisted styles. Once the hair is completely dry, you can also gently massage it along your scalp to hide the parting. Be careful not to disturb the twist/twist alignment along the sections and their ends. Remember that in the days following a twist, your hair will naturally plump and become fuller.

To complete your style, you may want fullness in some or all areas of your hair. If you choose to separate your rolls for more volume, be sure to handle them very gently. Carelessly dragging and separating will cause the multi-threaded coil assemblies to break apart and give a wrinkled, undefined look.

Remember: the more you handle your twists, the fuller your hair will be, so separate or finger fluff where you want volume or height. Little or no fluff as you want areas closer to the head and flatter. Once the hair is bouffant, it will not return to its original flat alignment until you re-wet and restyle your hair.

In the days after using Twist Defining Cream, you can apply As I Am® Moisture Milk, DoubleButter®Cream, or CocoShea Spray for smoothness, moisture, and shine. If you notice any flaking, using a few of these moisturizers should fix the problem.

Don't be afraid of water. He is now your friend! If a section looks a little wrinkled at the ends, wet your index finger and wrap the ends around your finger to make a spiral. Watch how your beautiful coils bounce back into alignment. Now, let it dry without touching it while it is wet.
